High
Five Friday
April
13, 2018
The
Marshfield Public Schools, through its continued commitment to promoting a
community of respect, are excited to announce that they will hold their second
annual “High Five Friday” in conjunction with the Marshfield Fire and Police
Departments
On
Friday, April 13 Marshfield’s police officers and firefighters will greet
students at each of the district’s seven schools as they arrive for the school
day. We are thrilled that Chief Hocking, Chief Tavares and the brave men and
women of each department will have a chance to greet our students and staff and
be acknowledged for the terrific work they do every day on behalf of schools.
The
MPSD and Marshfield’s public safety officials have a wonderful relationship and
work collaboratively to ensure the safety of our students. A safe and secure school climate is a key
component of the district’s strategic plan and working closely with these two
departments helps ensure that our students can learn in safe and supportive
learning environments.
Many
times throughout the school year, members of the MPD and MFD interact with the
students at our schools, but on “High Five Friday” they will greet the students
upon arrival and give them a high five to start their day off on a positive
note. This is a tremendous way to build
on the cooperative spirit that already exists between the schools and each
department and is in line with our focus on cultivating a community of respect.
We
look forward to “High Five Friday” and thank Chief Hocking, Chief Tavares and
their departments for their continued support of our schools and for their
efforts to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey
