We Are Marshfield Project 2017

Today is a proud day for the MPSD.  We had over 200 MHS seniors joining with over 50 parent/community volunteers who went out and worked at over 30 different sites around Marshfield to help clean things up.  This has become an annual tradition and Mrs. Pozerski and Mrs. Kurmin have been leading this event each year.

From beaches, to ball fields, to churches and historical sites, our volunteers picked up trash, put down mulch, cleared brush and fixed fences.  Everyone working had smiles on their faces knowing they were doing something good for their fantastic hometown.

Thank you to all who took part in the We Are Marshfield Project. Beyond our students and volunteers, there were numerous local businesses who chipped in with supplies, food and drinks. THANK YOU!!

This was definitely a TEAM effort.  #WeAreMarshfieldProject

MHS Students Visit the Senior Center

On Wednesday, April 26, the Marshfield High School Technology Club and representatives from the National Honor Society visited the Marshfield Senior Center. These students gave a brief presentation on the installation and use of Skype to a group of very eager senior citizens!  Following the presentation, seniors were given the opportunity to work individually with the student volunteers to install the app on their devices. Fifteen senior citizens and nine MHS students participated in this event, paving the way for future student/senior partnerships. As you can see from the attached photos, a good time was had by all!

A big thank you to Nancy Mullen and Aimee McAlpine for organizing this event.

Last SC Meeting for Carol Shrand

After serving the Town of Marshfield for the past 12 years, in her role as a member of the Marshfield School Committee, Carol Shrand took part in her final SC meeting this past Tuesday.  Surrounded by family, friends, teachers, students, administrators and SC members past, present and future, Carol was recognized for all of her efforts on behalf of the MPSD.  She received well-deserved accolades from local, state and national officials.  She heard from colleagues, family, friends, union officials, and students who have worked with her on behalf of the students and teachers of Marshfield for the past 12 years.

Thank you Carol for all that you have done.  You will be sorely missed.

Here are a few pictures from that night:
