Day of Remembrance 2018

Here's a few pictures from today's "remembrance" events held at MHS & FBMS. The students and staff wanted to honor the memory of the 17 individuals who lost their lives in last month's school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The high school had a "Remembrance Walk" to the gymnasium (due to the snow outside) and read off the name of each of the victims while placing flowers in their honor on center court.  After the ceremony, the flowers were then laid at the foot of the Ram statue outside of the auditorium entrance to the school.

Students at the FBMS walked quietly to the gym and held a 17 minute "moment of silence" to honor the lives each of the 17 victims.  They also had signs that students and staff were able to sign throughout the day.  After posting them for a while at the school, the plan is to send the signs down to the students at Stoneman Douglas HS.
